Ketidakikutan saya kepada mazhab teh bapak, atau selera kopi ibu membuat saya “agnostik”. Saya tidak pernah benar-benar menggemari teh, ataupun menyukai kopi. Meskipun sering kali bapak mengajarkan saya tentang teh yang enak, dan ibu menambah pengetahuan saya tentang kopi yang mumpuni. Meskipun semua itu tentunya dalam versi mereka.
Pertemuan saya dengan para pengikut mazhab minuman ini ternyata tidak hanya sampai di lingkungan keluarga saya. Ketika saya lebih tua, tersebutlah beberapa teman yang masuk kedalam kehidupan saya membawa mazhab mereka sendiri, beberapa cukup “liberal” seperti saya, dan beberapa cukup keras pendiriannya dengan mazhab yang mereka yakini. Tak jarang untuk beberapa hal tertentu, mereka lebih keras dari kaum fundamentalis 😆
Pakdhe Poer dan Blonteanya
Pakdhe Poer, begitu saya lebih nyaman memanggilnya, meskipun beliau lebih banyak dipanggil dan terkenal dengan Pakdhe Blontank.
Beliau adalah priyayi Solo, penggemar berat teh, hingga mempunyai racikan teh sendiri yang menurut beliau “ideal”, enak menurut beliau dan sesuai dengan air di tanah Solo Raya. Kalau boleh saya bilang, beliaulah Earl Grey tanah Jawa. Kedetilan beliau pada seduhan teh, bahkan sampai pada air yang digunakan benar-benar luar biasa. Beliau bahkan sampai tahu kalau air tertentu, kurang cocok untuk teh tertentu.
Bagi yang pernah ke gerai Kopi Oey milik Pak Bondan mak nyuss yang terkenal itu, mungkin pernah melihat di menunya ada sebuah minuman bernama Teh Blontank. Beliaulah yang meracik teh itu.
Pakdhe Poer tidak pernah suka dengan teh celup, apapun itu. Titik. Konon, beliau juga kurang suka dengan teh mazhab luar negeri, baik itu mazhab Cina dan Asia Timur, ataupun mazhab Eropa. Lupakan TWG, Twinings, atau Dilmah. Beliau lebih suka Kepala Djenggot, Botol, Poci dan berbagai “teh Jawa” lainnya yang berbumbu melati, kembang gambir, dan entah apa lagi. Jangan tanya lagi apa teh favorit beliau, tentulah Blontea. Racikan berbagai macam “teh jawa” dengan komposisi super rahasia.
Pepeng Escoret, pedagang dan petani yang cinta mati dengan kopi
Saya mengenal Mas Pepeng sebagai manusia multi talenta, ya blogger, ya bandar barang antik, petani cabe, dan yang pasti sebagai penggemar kopi garis keras.
Kecintaan Mas Firmansyah, yang biasa dipanggil Pepeng, dan tenar di jagat maya dengan nickname escoret sebagai merk dagangnya pada kopi membuatnya mendirikan Klinik Kopi. Warung kopi paling tengil se Jogja, bahkan mungkin se Indonesia.
Sampeyan tidak akan menemukan gula di Klinik Kopi, dan bersiaplah diajak bentak bentakan atau paling tidak plotot plototan kalau sampeyan meminta gula di klinik kopi. Merokok di dekat “tempat praktek” nya, bisa bisa sampeyan disuruh pulang! 😆
Mas Pepeng juga terkenal sebagai pembenci kopi instant garis keras. Sodara beliau menganggap orang yang meminum kopi instant sebagai orang yang sesat. Harus disadarkan. Ekstrim Memang.
Keekstriman Mas Pepeng ini tidak berbuah pahit seperti kopi yang dia sajikan atau raut mukanya ketika orang bilang kopi instant itu enak. Keekstriman sodara beliau justru berbuah manis. Banyak orang terutama pecinta kopi penasaran berkunjung ke warungnya untuk sekedar mencicipi kopi ala Mas Pepeng. Atau kalau boleh saya bilang, mencicipi idealismenya, tidak hanya kopinya.

Ketika saya bilang bahwa kopi Toraja Mas Pepeng kurang berasa aroma bunga rempahnya, atau ketika saya bilang Teh Blontea Pakdhe Poer terlalu pahit karena terlalu banyak komposisi tangkai dibandingkan daun teh di bahan racikannya, mereka tetap mau mendengarkan saya sang peminum segala yang seleranya tentu menjadi tanda tanya besar. Sebaliknya, saya juga harus bisa menerima ketika Pakdhe Poer berseru kepada saya, teh raenak kok diombe mas. Atau Mas Pepeng meyakinkan pada saya untuk tidak meminum kopi instant dengan tagline nya yang terkenal itu. Life is too short to drink bad coffee.
