Sampeyan pernah tahu atau dengar yang namanya Paid Review, atau sponsored review? Mungkin pernah? Bagi yang belum, silahken googling googling dulu buat keterangan lebih lengkap.
Paid Review mungkin adalah cara termudah mendapatkan duit bagi blogger. Meskipun bukan terbanyak, tapi tercepat dalam opini saya. Bayangkeun, sekali nulis, bisa dibayar 15 dolar. Dan syaratnya, hanya pertahankan tulisan itu kurang lebih 30 hari. Mantep ndak tuh? Sehari bisa dibilang dapet passive income 50 sen, kalau dirupiahkan yaa, sekitar 5 ribuan lah! Saratnya? Yaa… Namanya paid review, reviewnya mesti ngikut ketentuan-ketentuan nya yang nge-paid dong!
Sampeyan berminat? Saya sih enggak. Karena paid review itu bisa dibilang membeli independensian saya, kejujuran saya (jujur aja masih belum sepenuhnya), dan mengganggu temen-temen saya yang sering menyambangi blog saya ini. Lha kok bisa begitu? Jadi begini…
Tidak bermaksud berprasangka buruk, tapi, yang namanya review dibayar mestinya kita dituntut untuk lebih menonjolkan yang baik-baik dari produk itu, dan meminimalisir, bahkan meniadakan review jeleknya. Kalo iklan gak masalah, wong namanya iklan. Semua sudah maklum kalo iklan cuma bilang yang bagus-bagus. Lha ini embel-embelnya review jeh.
Poin lainnya, kebanyakan, kalo gak boleh dibilang hampir semua, paid review bahkan tidak menuntut kita untuk mencobanya terlebih dahulu dengan mengirimkan sampel misalnya. Contoh kasus begini, saya pernah ditawari untuk mereview sebuah hotel di Bahama dengan bayaran 10 dolar. Gimana cobak? Bahama itu tepatnya dimana saja saya ndak tau…
Pernah juga saya dan Mas Fuad tertawa sejadi-jadinya karena salah satu blog kenalan kami menulis review tentang Pe*is Extender. Saya kok sangsi kalo yang bersangkutan pernah mencobanya. Tapi dia bilang berhasil tuh di blognya…
Last but not least, paid review menuntut site kita ber rating bagus, entah itu alexa, pagerank, ataupun technorati misalnya. Padahal dengan paid review itu saya yakin akan menurunkan rating. Siapa seh yang mau tetep membaca site paid review?
Lalu, cara yang agak ekstrim pun ditempuh. Biar tetep ngeksis, kudu rajin meninggalkan link. Salah satunya dengan meninggalkan komen, (terutama di site yang do-follow) meskipun OOT dan bisa dicap ngejunk.
Jadi, selama terms dari paid review itu belum berubah, sangat beresiko bagi saya, untuk mengikuti yang namanya paid review, sponsored review atau sejenisnya. Saya belum siap dicap sebagai Toni Boster. Waton muni ndobose banter!

Saya pikir ada 2 jenis paid review: Yang di-drive dan yang tidak di drive by product owner.
Ketika sudah bicara di level credibility, sebuah brand ngga akan dengan bodoh merelakan produknya untuk di paid review-kan di online dengan resiko dihujat habis oleh blogger lain hehehhe. Kecuali, brand ownernya ngga mudeng dinamika online.
Yang biasa saya lakukan dengan paid review adalah memberi kesempatan blogger mencoba produk dan MEMBEBASKAN mereka memberi komentar based on her/his experience terhadap produk. Ini sebenernya sama dengan treatment ke media cetak. Wartawan dipinjami produk dan mereka dibebaskan untuk kasih berapa bintang untuk produk itu.
Dan karena blogger yang saya ajak berkolaborasi pun blogger kredible, mereka paham hal ini.
So at the end, bukan sekedar blognya laris, tapi seberapa kredible blogger itu adalah faktor yang akan membuat advertiser melirik mereka. Kredible di sini terkait konten dan personality.
Wha ini… Ada pakarnya perkara onlen-onlenan. Saya nurut saja wes kalo sama ibu satu ini.
Nha, kalo paid reviewnya model seperti itu, saya kira akan sangat berbeda ceritanya. Paid review yang sehat tentunya tidak menimbulkan efek samping yang tidak mengenakkan seperti yang saya sebutkan tadi.
Pada awalnya, saya tidak merasa terganggu dengan paid review. Tapi belakangan ini kok banyak pelaku paid review, terutama pemasang iklan dan agennya terkesan asal dalam menjalankan paid review. Asal nampang di internet, asal ditulis bagus-bagus sama blogger, selesai perkara. Entah apa yang ada di pikiran mereka, saya juga bingung. Kemana perginya common sense mereka…
Saya harap nantinya makin banyak penyelenggara paid review yang lebih masuk akal. Eh iya, say my hi buat Mas Adhit ya Mbak.
